Open Air Demo’s Location Has Changed!
OR’s Open Air Demo to move location due to poor conditions at Willard Bay State Park.
Due to poor water levels and exposed mud and rocks and availability of a suitable area to move to, OR show management has made the decision to shift the location of Open Air Demo from Willard Bay to Pineview Reservoir, near Ogden, UT. The show team and TAPS (Trade Association of Paddlesports) director Michael Pardy completed a recent site inspection of the old location which revealed a compromised beachfront, extremely low water depth, numerous exposed rocks and soft bottom conditions; this prompted the move to the upstream (Ogden River) Pineview Reservoir, where conditions are far superior on the beach, on the trails and in the water.
The demo will be taking place at Cemetery Point, a peninsular feature reaching into the heart of the large reservoir, and all features of the Open Air Demo will be going full speed ahead, many with enhanced terrain and access elements. For example, the beachfront area is larger and cleaner at Cemetery Point, with nearby parking and even a beach volleyball court. The Magellan GPS Treasure Hunt and Teva Trail Run will be going on as planned at the new venue, with the Trail Run accessing the Wheeler Ridge trail via a short shuttle ride; a beautiful mountain run awaits those in the mood for gear testing on the trail.
Outdoor Retailer is busy putting together the materials, permits, and logistics for this late change and will be reaching out to attendees and exhibitors in the coming days regarding this move.
