While the world of Standup Paddleboards has long enjoyed the extreme rigidity provided by drop-stitch construction, there has never been an inflatable kayak utilizing this complex technology that essentially turns an inflatable craft into a rigid performance machine.

For nearly 20 years, the team at Advanced Elements has been introducing new and unique paddlesports products, and each year we continue to push forward to give our customers more. Their goal is to blow your mind with amazing designs.

drop-stitch kayak constructionAvailable in single and tandem lengths, the all new AirVolution is a hi-pressure Drop-stitch kayak that offers users some new and exciting options in the portable inflatable kayak market. This is a rigid high-pressure drop-stitch kayak unlike any other… The AirVolution is a streamlined high-performance kayak with paddling performance that rivals that of a hard-shell kayak.

Featuring an open deck design for ease of entry, the Airvolution uses extremely durable materials and features many high-end components such as a high-back comfortable seat, bungee deck lacing for gear stowage, and heavy-duty grab handles. Simply unfold, inflate and you’re ready for your next adventure.

As shown in our inflatable standup paddle boards and AirFusion Kayak, drop-stitch technology allows us to create high pressure forms that are extremely rigid. The drop-stitch construction of this kayak adds unparalleled rigidity creating a platform so stable that you can stand-up paddle it!

The AirVolution’s design also creates a v-hull with chine, which enhances the tracking and hull speed. Born from simplicity, and much like a sit-on-top style kayak, it has a large open seating area making it very easy to get in and out of.

By using tens of thousands of tough polyester threads stitched between two layers (top and bottom) of air-tight coated woven polyester, drop-stitch technology allows AE to create high pressure forms that are extremely rigid. To enhance durability, the drop-stitch material receives an additional layer of PVC Tarpaulin laminated to the top and bottom sides of the drop-stitch material.

The added width and flat bottom in the seat region add to the incredible stability felt when paddling. The adjustable molded foam seat rest is a sturdy hi-back support for hours of paddling. We have incorporated molded bow and stern end caps to carry the sleek lines through from end to end. Slight rocker accompanied by a quick release deep tracking fin, allows the AirVolution to punch through waves and maintain impressive tracking. We have added bungee deck lacing fore and aft, for quick access to a drybag or other quick access gear. Beneath the deck is small storage space that is best utilized by stowing a medium size drybag. This way the gear can be pushed under the deck and later removed by pulling the drybag out. Of course a drybag is not necessary if the gear does not need to stay dry.

AE added a cockpit splash guard to help keep water on the deck from spilling into the kayak. However, if water does get in there is a drain-well that is meant for collecting any excess water. The drain-well can also be used to hold a large water bottle. Rugged but comfortable soft-grip carry handles at the bow and stern are perfect for portaging. Inflation is done via the 2-way military style inflation valves and pressure relief valves prevent excess pressure damage. The included hi-pressure pump with gauge connects to the valve and it is recommended to inflate to between 10-12 psi. Of course lighter-weight paddlers may not need as much pressure. The Roller Duffel backpack will certainly open up the options for taking this kayak wherever you want to go.

Where will you paddle next?
