Morgan Promnitz joins Hobie’s management team as the company’s new Fishing Product Manager. His responsibilities include oversight of the development and launch of the company’s expanding line of fishing products including boats, accessories and parts.

In his new position, Morgan will be the fishing liaison between the design, engineering, sales and marketing departments. He joins forces with the company’s two other talented and fishing-specific team members including Keeton Eoff, Strategic Development Fishing Analyst and Jackie Smith, field ambassador. “The addition of Morgan to our management team reaffirms our commitment to the fishing market,” says Hobie president Doug Skidmore. “Together with the continued support throughout all levels of the company, he can help launch us into a new and exciting time for fishing products.”

Morgan has been with the Hobie Cat organization since July of 2009 in the position of Sales Associate. He brought with him a strong background in the fishing world that included retail experience at Fast Lane Sailing and Kayaking, Blue Water Tackle and San Diego Fly Shop. He simultaneously ran his own guide service, West Coast Kayak Fishing, using Hobie fishing kayaks and has been on the Hobie Fishing Team since it was formed four years ago. During this time, he logged on hundreds of hours of hands-on experience with Hobie products, including the lengthy testing that preceded the introduction of the Pro Angler fishing boat. All this was accomplished while attending and graduating from San Diego State University with a Business Administration and Accounting degree.
