He’s been tearing it up running the gnar—and playfully playing along the way—in Jackson Kayak’s new Clutch, billed by the company as “the ultimate creek-slice kayak: both fully creekable and with a playable stern.”
Creek-slice. We like it. How do they do it? The Clutch is built on a Gnarvana Medium hull for a high-floating, high-rockered ride for confidence and control. It also reduced the stern rocker by an inch and a half compared to the Gnarvana for more speed, better skip-outs, improved surfing, and to make it easier to engage the stern on demand.
The Clutch also has a forgiving half-slice stern and nimble feel. It’s a creek boat is stern-squirtable while being almost as forgiving as a full-size creek boat stern. As company tester extraordinaire Dane Jackson says, “Try it. You’ll see.”
