Pelican has entered the inflatable SUP market with a bang, debuting its new Pelican LoungeBoard, blending balance and performance in a SUP that allows you to paddle, lounge or workout on a stable and comfortable board. The unique geometry of the wide paddle board, along its high-performance drop-stitch construction, provides stability, durability, and performance, with a whopping 400-lb capacity for two adults, plus a pet, cooler and even chess board.

The inflatable paddle board comes with a multitude of accessories, including paddle, pump, ankle leash, deep-water fin, transport bag, and its innovatice Island Connect,  letting you attach multiple boards together to create a dock platform and more. \

“We designed it with a focus was on prioritizing stability, versatility, and spaciousness,” says director of inflatables and accessories Jean-Sebastien Belanger. “Most paddleboards focus on stability, but we took it much further. Every aspect of its design, from its shorter yet larger dimensions to its board-wide comfort padding, allows friends and families to play, relax, exercise, socialize, and more super easily. Our goal was to offer more than just a paddleboard; we wanted a versatile platform that enhances every aspect of the outdoor experience, from a fun day out paddling to a calm yoga session on the water.”

Pelican Confluence LoungeboadPelican, also the owner of Confluence Outdoor, whose brands include Dagger, Perception, Wilderness Systems, Advanced Elements, Boardworks, and more, got into the category with a desire to continue finding new ways to help people get out on the water. “The main reason behind its creation was to introduce true innovation in the category and cater to how people truly want to use their boards on the water,” he adds. “Most paddleboards today have a shape inspired from touring boards, but most people want to cover a little bit of distance, and then chill, lounge or play on their board. So, it was created specifically for that.”

So far, reception has been strong. “Even ahead of its launch, we conducted extensive market research to validate the interest in such a board, so it’s no surprise it has been met enthusiastically since its launch, and praised for its ultra-stable design that instills confidence, especially among those who typically feel uneasy on standard SUPs,” adds Belanger.
