2022 Golden Rodeo Down River Race
On Wednesday, June 29th, the Colorado Whitewater Association hosted a spectacular down river race in the heart of Golden, CO. The upper section of the Clear Creek play park was the race course. Strategically placed X’s or yellow ropes positioned on course were used for gates . After multiple ferries and an all out sprint to the finish line, boaters arrived to a cheering crowd and lots of smiles.

The Golden Rodeo event had an emphasis on fun with all water craft and ages welcome. Kayaks split into long or playboat categories. With the course being right on the Clear Creek walking trail, paddlers could easily enter both classifications or grab their SUP for another chance at victory and bragging rights. There were also prizes for the top three competitors in each category. Not bad for a free event.
