SUP Goes Transformer with the New Switch Board from Isle

Meet ISLE, the self-anointed original surf and SUP manufacturer out of San Diego, CA, that never wants you to have to choose between bringing your kayak or standup paddleboard again.

The company says it is excited to announce its new Switch, a “hybrid” watercraft that converts from paddle board to kayak in seconds, and weighs in at just 19 pounds.

Explore your local waterways standing up or sitting down with ISLE’s newest release, the Switch. The new model brings together thoughtful design and innovation with a focus on versatility on the water. Users can effortlessly convert the board from SUP to kayak thanks to the patent-pending IsleLink connection system; a series of rugged webbing loops that run the length of the board rails matched with stainless steel G-hooks on all IsleLink accessories. Using this system, the Switch can be easily configured for solo or tandem kayak use and a wide range of other fun and functional set-ups in both kayak and SUP modes, including connecting two boards together!

“When designing the Switch we wanted to maximize versatility without sacrificing stability or performance for both sit-on-top kayak and stand-up paddleboard use,” mentioned VP of Product Jimmy Blakeney. “The Switch is an absolutely terrific paddleboard, but we spent just as much time designing the seat and foot brace for all-day comfort, support, and adjustability. Best of all it gives paddlers the freedom to customize and configure their set-up to match how they choose to spend time on the water on any particular day.”

The Switch features user-centric design across every detail. A full-length soft and grippy traction pad supports yoga, pets, kids, and lounging across the entire deck. Using G-Hooks and IsleLink technology, users can easily secure multiple accessories to the board wherever desired. And in kayak mode, this SUP features thoughtfully designed seats with a 4-inch inflatable seat cushion and fiberglass-reinforced seat backs for all-day comfort and control on the water.

Since 2004, ISLE has developed a reputation for high-quality, lightweight, inflatable paddleboards and The Switch is no exception. At just 19lbs, the Switch is the lightest weight hybrid paddleboard and kayak in its class. By utilizing ISLE’s proprietary Air-Tech Fusion Lite Technology, the Switch achieves a 25% weight savings over its competition, making it easier to transport and store. The light weight is even more impressive considering the 425-pound capacity and ability to use it as a solo or tandem kayak.

The Switch was announced today and will be on sale by the end of the month.
