Mother Earth, Mother Nature, and now Mother River. Using rivers as a metaphor for life, a river outfit in Vail, Colo., called River Wisdom is now offering river retreats as Women’s Empowerment Workshops and True Life Coaching sessions, with its inaugural weeklong July 2-7 along the Green River in Utah and Colorado.
On the trip, says certified life coach Susie Kincade of Women’s Empowerment Workshop, women will learn “the ancient wisdom of the river and how to apply it to their own lives to embrace change in a fearless, positive, authentic way.”
Like all Women’s Empowerment Workshop offerings, River Wisdom emphasizes the inner and outer adventure, she adds. Expert, professional river guides will lead the boating while Kincade and Victoria Fitts Milgrim of True Life Coaching guide participants’ inner journeys.
The 44-mile whitewater rafting trip begins at the “Gates of Lodore” located in Dinosaur National Monument on the Green River. As in negotiating the many currents of life itself, the group will travel through waters white and flat while gliding past 800-foot-high canyon walls. In calmer waters, participants will hop in IKs . “This is a powerful metaphor for being in charge of your own life,” says Kincade. “As we journey down this desert wilderness gem, exploring the currents and canyons, women will experience fun, adventure, beauty and support as they discover the Wisdom of the River and the power of their Authentic Self to navigate life’s changes.”
