Kayaker Jason Craig Appears in Sports Illustrated
What’s next…Letterman? That could well be the case for 16-year-old kayaking phenom Jason Craig, who recently appeared in iconic sports mag Sports Illustrated.

In the magazine’s recent “16 Pictures of the Week,” one of them features Craig kayaking with the caption: “Reigning world junior champion Jason Craig goes over the falls during the U.S. National Freestyle Kayak Team Trials July 4 in Missoula, Mont. The 16-year-old finished second.”

Putting him in good company, Craig is pictured right after shots of Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams winning Wimbledon; Tiger Woods; World Cup Africa; Tour de France; Ironman; and Nascar.

“It’s pretty crazy being in Sports Illustrated,” says Craig, who just finished a trip on Idaho’s South Fork Salmon. “It’s cool just to look in Sports Illustrated and see kayaking shots….but it’s a great feeling to be that person. My family and friends are stoked.”

“It’s pretty fantastic exposure for kayaking to be featured alongside World Cup, Wimbledon, and Nascar,” asdds his mom, Karen Craig. “The crew from Missoula, Karl Moser and KB, deserve a big thanks for reaching out to SI.”
