In an effort to promote and showcase the burgeoning sport of Stand Up Paddling (SUP), Chaco sandals and Boardworks are partnering to bring the Show Up and Blow Up SUP Demo Tour to more than 30 sites across the nation this year. The tour promises to bring SUP demonstrations, clinics and races as well as the latest gear and performance footwear to the nation’s on-water communities throughout the summer and fall.

The event aims to bring the latest, most innovative boards, paddles and Chaco performance footwear to the paddling towns, “while building the next generation of SUP athletes and ambassadors,” said Gretchen Gamble, marketing manager for Boardworks.

Because there are many different types of waterways in this world and many different ways to enjoy SUP on each one, the tour will feature all areas of the sport. From flat and white water to coastal paddling, the versatility of SUP will take the tour to all corners of the U.S.

With the aid of local retailers and brand ambassadors, the folks at Boardworks and Chaco will be delivering SUP demonstrations, clinics and races to Virginia, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Oregon, Washington, California, Georgia and Tennessee throughout the spring, summer and fall.

About the partnership between Boardworks and Chaco, Gamble said, “We are thrilled to have Chaco join the Show Up and Blow Up Tour as the presenting sponsor. Our river SUP athletes train and compete in Chacos as well as wear them while on shore. It is a solid alliance of two brands with a similar goal of getting more people into the sport of SUP to nurture an active, on-water community.”

With its roots in the water-sports industry, Chaco sees this alliance as an opportunity to strengthen the on-water community. “As an outdoor brand born on the river, we want to continue to encourage and support on-water adventures,” said Colin Butts, marketing manager at Chaco.

“Partnering with Boardworks on this tour is a natural fit and one where we can help people learn paddling skills, try new gear, and share their experiences with other enthusiasts,” said Butts. We’re dedicated to building a community of active Chaconians enjoying our nation’s rivers, lakes, and coasts.”
