Live on the Front Range and want to upgrade your rafting and paddling gear? Head to Down River Equipment’s bi-annual Sale and Boat Swap Sept. 12 – 14…

Down River Equipment’s bi-annual Sale and Boat Swap is the largest and longest running regional event of its kind. Rafting outfitters and private boaters alike come from miles around to consign their used rafts. Most of them, says co-owner Phil Walczynski, use the proceeds to upgrade to new equipment. “It’s a great event, drawing people from all over,” he says. “It has about as good of deals as you’ll find.”

Sellers, he says, are offered the option of 100% store credit or 85% cash. And new boaters just getting into the sport are able to purchase quality, used boats and still have a little left over to start accumulating rafting gear at discounted prices.

The company also runs a store wide sale during the Swap, with most everything marked down 10-30% (limited to in stock items only, and excluding frames and other accessories requiring shop labor). The store also debuts a new Clearance Center with mark downs up to 70%.

DRE is also launching new daily gear giveaways as part of the festivities, with multiple prizes raffled off throughout each day of the event. One raffle ticket is earned for each boat consigned in the swap and for every $100 purchased in the store. A lucky GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be chosen on Sunday afternoon to receive a custom made Down River 3-Bay Colorado Frame worth $639.95.
