CKS Paddlefest Kicks Off Memorial Day Weekend in Colorado

As part of this year’s event, CKS PaddleFest is partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County (BGCCC) and the Buena Vista Optimist Club in an effort to raise funds and awareness for local youth throughout the event.

The event draws thousands of newbies and enthusiasts from around the region to learn, share, watch and celebrate what paddling has to offer. The multiple location venues include a flat-water demo center, on water education, river competitions, multi-sport races, free demos, and several other non-paddling and family oriented events centered on “all ages” participation.

“PaddleFest is proud to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County and the Buena Vista Optimist Club through the success of PaddleFest 2014,” says Earl Richmond of CKS. “This is a huge annual event for Chaffee County and it takes great collaboration to pull it off. We feel this will be a solid and productive long term relationship between these two organizations and the event.”

The benefactors feel the same way. “We’re thrilled to be to part of PaddleFest. No single event gets our kids, board members, parents, volunteers and supporters more excited,” says the Boys and Girls Club’s Brian Beaulieu. “We’re also honored to partner with the Optimists this year. It’s like catching the perfect wave. Building a strong sense of community is one of our core beliefs and PaddleFest provides the perfect opportunity to bring all of us together on the water to do just that.”
