Jackson Unveils New Antix 3.0!

Jackson Kayak has unveiled its latest whitewater kayak, the Antix 3.0, giving the top-selling half slice in the market a major upgrade. Designed by the self-proclaimed “Herding Cats” group of Dane Jackson, Stephen Wright, Clay Wright, Nick Troutman and Alec Voorhees, along with Tad Dennis leading the CAD work, they built off the past two generations of the Antix for the new and improved 3.0.

“We’ve added more bow confidence, primary stability, and a double rail,” says Dennis.

For paddling downriver the added surface area on the bow combined with more volume and rocker offers a higher and drier ride. When paired with the wider hull, it carries speed through and over features. For downriver play, the lower stern volume makes squirting and splatting easier.

And for those that like to surf they took the Rockstar V’s double rail and added it onto the hull of the Antix. This means better carving in and out of eddies and while surfing. “The Antix 3.0 provides the best surfing, sliding, spinning and maneuvering that we’ve ever offered in a half slice package,” says Dennis. “If you want a lighter, smaller package for working your way downriver or taking your downriver play to the next level, the Antix 3.0’s for you.

“We set out to make a kayak that feels even more playful and intuitive. It’s looser on a wave, easier to stern-squirt, and handles better downriver, all while keeping the confidence and safety paddlers expect.”

And a word from His Daneness (whom, of course, could make paddling a piece of plywood look effortless): “Trying to improve upon one of my favorite boats of all time was a tall order but I couldn’t be more stoked on where we ended up. We brought a modern feel with its more confidence inspiring bow, increased speed, and a higher floating design, all while maintaining the nimbleness and playfulness I loved with the Antix 2. But my favorite part is we added our Rockstar double rail turning it into a loose, epic surfing machine no matter what size wave you’re on.”
