(Greensboro, North Carolina) – Steve Jordan will leave Legacy Paddlesports effective April 16th, 2010 to become the President of Hurricane Kayaks.

Steve has served as the International and Southeastern US Director of Sales for Legacy Paddlesports since February 2007. Preceding his tenure with Legacy Paddlesports, Steve was one of the founders of Liquidlogic in 2000 and served as Liquidlogic’s VP of Sales until 2007. In addition, Steve had a sales career with Perception Kayaks that spanned ten years prior to the founding of Liquidlogic.

Speaking on behalf of the ownership and management of Legacy Paddlesports, Andy Zimmerman said, “To a person, our ownership and management are supportive of Steve in this new endeavor. It clearly is a great opportunity for Steve and we wish him the very best going forward. Things will feel and seem very different as Steve was such a vital part of Liquidlogic and now Legacy Paddlesports but we didn’t feel that we should hold Steve back from spreading his wings and pursuing what is now his new dream.”

Steve Jordan acknowledged his mixed feelings, saying “After putting so much of myself into Liquidlogic and now Legacy Paddlesports it is very difficult to leave. I have the kind of anxious feelings one might have in going through a divorce. You know that it is the right thing to do but……. That said, though I am very excited about my future at Hurricane.”

“Since this is a fast breaking event Legacy has not yet made any final decisions as to how we will fill Steve’s responsibilities in the longer term but we are taking the steps necessary to insure that our customers are well served in the interim. We will announce our permanent decisions once we have had an opportunity to fully reflect on the matter” Zimmerman said.
