New from Level Six paddling apparel is its Hydro-Shield nano-treatment technology — added during the yarn spinning process to infuse the yarn before it is woven with a highly water resistant finish — therefore not affecting the overall breathability of the finished fabric.

Hydro-Shield has “excellent longevity” and will last after multiple washing cycles, more than four times longer than traditional treatments, even in harsh conditions such as salt water. Hydro-Shield can also be recharged simply by washing and drying the garment.

Level Six designed its new men’s and women’s SUP Rider active wear shirts using Hydro-Shield moisture wicking technology. Designed as a paddle-specific active wear shirt for conditions with constant spray or a heavy mist, the new SUP Rider Tech Shirt offers excellent next-to-skin comfort while also creating a highly water-resistant barrier.

The long sleeve SUP Rider incorporates a low-profile hood for when the weather takes a turn for the worse. The SUP Rider includes features like: chest pocket, back slip pocket, zero-chafe paneling, and UPF 50+ protection. They are constructed using 90 percent Nylon and 10 percent Spandex and flat stitched seams.

“When we started developing this new treatment two years ago we were consistently striving for something that would be years ahead of our competitors. With Hydro-Shield, the water literally bounces off of the fabric of the SUP Rider. I am blown away by the performance and comfort that Hydro-Shield brings to our products,” said Stig Larsson, Level Six co-owner.

Level Six paddling gear and apparel company originated in 1997 by Olympic and National Canoe and Kayak team members Tyler Lawlor and Stig Larsson. The company is based in Ottawa, Ontario. Level Six products can be found throughout North America with distribution in Europe, Japan, Russia and Australia.
