There’s a new vid out highlighting Cali’s American River, billed as a faith-based survival thriller.

Filmed among the rugged canyons and forests of Auburn and Sacramento, California, Redemption River pairs cinematography by Joey Katches with water cinematography by Emmy-winning Scott and Dustin Lindgren, whose credits include The River Runner. Every rafting sequence was captured on the American River— including the film’s water stunts. No green screens. No studio tanks.

Post-production was completed at Kappa Studios, known for The Chosen and His Only Son.

The plot in a nutshell: After a rafting accident strands them in the wilderness, a grieving couple must fight to survive—and find their way back to each other and to God. After the devastating loss of their child, Margo and Josh set out on a rafting trip hoping to save a marriage already at the breaking point. When an accident leaves them stranded in the unforgiving wilderness, survival demands more than strength.

Forced to confront grief, guilt, and the silence of God, they must decide whether faith and their raft—and their love—can carry them home.

The cast features Kevin Lawson (Homestead, The Shift), Heather Land (Family Camp), Emma Elle Roberts (Unplanned), and more—together reaching an audience of over 14 million across social platforms.

Redemption River premiered at the International Christian Film Festival, earning nominations for Best Picture and Best Director, and winning Best Lead Actress.
